BLUSH
STROKES
Pink isn’t just
for girls anymore,
says Minneapolis
designer Brandi
Hagen. “In fashion,
women and men
wear blush pinks
as an alternative to
creams and beiges.
The same is now
true in the home.”
■ Fresh
application
In contrast to
brighter, bolder
pinks, blush pinks
can be used subtly
with other quiet
colors. “It looks so
good with aqua
blue, which has
been popular for a
few years now.” The
shade also pairs well
with chocolate
brown and light
yellows and green.
■ Ease in
Many neutrals such
as beige and gray
have strong pink
undertones, Brandi
says. “That means
blush is a great
neutral that can be
used for carpet, on a
wall, or a big piece
of solid upholstery.”
■ Fine finish
For an unexpected
twist, try blush
shades in the dining
room, Brandi
suggests. “It’s most
beautiful when it’s
paired with gold or
crystal accents.”
